Something else? Create a free mess and try it with your own numbers; nothing is shared until you invite members.
Do all members need an account?
Members join with an invite link from the manager. Once they join they can see their meals, dues and the shared ledger on the web or the Android app. The manager can also keep entries for members who have not joined yet.
What if someone enters a wrong expense?
It is reversed with a reason, never deleted. The original entry and the reversal both stay in the ledger, so anyone can see what changed, who changed it and why.
Can we use meals for food only and split rent equally?
Yes. Split methods are set per category: food by meals, rent equally, electricity by weights, and so on. You can still override the method on a single expense.
We don't count meals. Is MessMate still useful?
Yes. Switch meals off and food is split like any other category, equally by default. Bazar lists, deposits and monthly closing work the same way.
Is our data private?
Only your mess sees its books. Members of one mess cannot see another mess's entries, and you can export your data as CSV on Pro and Hostel plans.
